I just wanted this on my blog because ships, as a general rule, are not something I discuss too often (it’s not the most important part of any story to me, I have to fundamentally appreciate/connect to the characters as separate entities first, before I can care about them together, and sometimes I’m drawn to pairs that aren’t typically ‘romantic’ or that I may not necessarily think should be sexually-based). I find I’m drawn to relationships that exist almost cosmically, in a spiritual sense, soul mates that go beyond mere romance or beyond the physical, people who are satellites and anchors for one another. Love on the whole is a grander idea to me than romance alone (though of course a LOT of the time that’s part of it, it can be body/soul, and it can simply be soul). But when two beings discover that in each other lies the other’s salvation, when connections form that can never be erased, or bonds are forged that should be impossible (and yet are immutable), when they see the beauty in one another that no one else can see - the superficial bits (gender background etc etc) disappear. It may be inexplicable, it may not always be happy (but maybe it’s rapturous); it’s necessary whether it burns eternal or only flames for a moment. And that’s true love in any sense, those are my favorite love stories. (“When love has fused and mingled two beings in a sacred and angelic unity, the secret of life has been discovered so far as they are concerned; they are no longer anything more than the two boundaries of the same destiny; they are no longer anything but the two wings of the same spirit. Love, soar.”)
A slightly different but VERY in depth look at Carson/Hughes.
Warning: this is long and somewhat stream of consciousness. Here we go.
If you ship Carson/Mrs. Hughes please like OR reblog this post (NOT both) I want to see how many of us there actually are…
My Coberts and Chelsies:
Y’all remember Back to the Past? Which I haven’t updated for like a month and a half because I’ve had zero time?
Are you all still interested/even remember this because I want to finish it. However, if everyone has forgotten and no longer cares i don’t wanna waste my time.
You all want to see this through with me? :D
“Oh, fine, be like that, I suppose. But I’m going. It’s rare enough that we get out of this house.”
Carson looks at her, frowns. She’s putting on her gloves with a miffed expression, cranky now that he has refused to go along with the group. He wishes that she’d understand,…
This one’s been trapped in my head while I was away. A relief to finally get it down on paper.
Post CS Chelsie drabble.
Hi Meg! Thanks! :)
I am a HUGE Chelsie shipper and have been since their first scene together in 1x01. I have loved seeing their relationship grow through the 3 seasons so far.
A lot of people believe that the CS was not Chelsie-centric but i believe it really was. We saw in the CS how much Elsie loves him and also how afraid Carson is of intimacy. In my post i address how Carson is projecting because i truly believe he doesn’t know how to express his love or act on it AND that he thinks they will never be able to act on it.
I think Carson is going to have to be caught off guard in some way in order for it to work. It already happened once after Sybil’s death. After Matthew’s death i do not doubt that they will grow even closer but HOPEFULLY that means one of them will break down and say their feelings.
This conference, so far, has been AMAZING. Worshipping God with over 16,000 other college students is truly an awesome experience and I am just blown away. I am loving my time here. <3
Unfortunately, my internet usage is much more limited than i originally expected so im not sure how much i will be on from now until the 1st. Hope you all are having a fantastic week!
ALSO while the 16 hour bus trip was hell, it gave my mind lots of time to think so i will have a cobert, chelsie, and richobel fic for you all (AT LEAST. i have a 16 hr return trip there may be more!) by the time i come back (yay!!)
Last, i gained like 10 or 11 followers in the last 48 hours (i should go away more often yeah? :p) welcome newbies! thanks for the follows and i hope you enjoy your stay in crazy ame land.
Still not over the way Elsie was looking at Charles that ENTIRE FUCKING EPISODE.
Carson and Hughes remain in a weird holding pattern where they haven’t had a proper conversation in a really long time.
This is literally the truest thing I have ever read. PERFECT description of their relationship. Is this a plothole, or is this part of a master plan?
I think I’ve got Carson figured out, guys.
